MEDICAL SURGICAL VACUUM SYSTEM
• Inspected Vacuum exhaust.
Location — away from fresh air intakes
Environmental Considerations
• Inspected Vacuum source equipment for proper design, installation, and function.
Sizing and Capacity
• Inspected required source and riser valves.
Location/Labeling Valve Handles Locked or Secure
• Tested all area and master alarm functions.
• Inspected proper pressure switch and area alarm sensor locations.
• Inspected minimum of 12 inches of Vacuum Hg at source and at each zone.
• Tested each Vacuum inlet for maximum available flow rate SCFM.
All inlets shall draw 3.0 scfm without reducing the vacuum pressure below 12 inches Hg at any adjacent station inlet.
• Tested all Vacuum zone valves for proper function, identification, and mechanical integrity.
• Checked Vacuum system components for proper installation (i.e.: Brazing, Labeling, Hanging, etc.).
• Checked for cross-connections.
• Tested each Vacuum inlet for proper function, identification, and mechanical integrity.
