NITROGEN SYSTEM
• Inspected Nitrogen supply system for proper design, installation, and function.
Sizing and Capacity
• Inspected required source, main, and riser valves.
Location/Labeling Valve Handles Locked or Secure
• Inspected regulators and pressure relieve valves.
Location Correct Values
• Tested all area and master alarm functions.
• Inspected proper pressure switch and area alarm sensor locations.
• Tested Nitrogen system for allowable gas concentrations of >99% nitrogen.
• Tested Nitrogen system for particulate contamination in at least 25% of zones. Tested with 0.45 micron filter device
• Tested Nitrogen system for operational pressures of 160-185 psi at supply and at each zone.
• Tested each Nitrogen outlet for proper function, identification, and mechanical integrity.
Identified leaking/malfunctioning outlets
Identified outlets delivering substandard pressure/flow rate
• Tested Nitrogen zone shut-off valves for proper function, identification, adaptation, and mechanical
integrity.
• Checked Nitrogen zone valves for proper gas identification labeling.
• Tested Nitrogen operational pressures and flows at each outlet.
Outlets shall deliver 5.0 scfm with a pressure drop of not more than 5 psi and static pressure of 160-185 psi.
• Tested Nitrogen control panels for leakage and proper operation.
• Checked Nitrogen system components for proper installation (i.e.: Brazing, Labeling, Hanging, etc.).
• Checked for cross-connections.
